More than two crocodiles were sighted near Junglighat Jetty in Andaman and Nicobar Islands, India last June 2, sparking fear among locals and tourists alike. Many tourists were found taking photos of these crocodiles whenever they appeared, inadvertently sending a wrong message about Andaman tourism in the national level.
People working near Junglighat Jetty were clearly terrified and demanded for the immediate transfer of these crocodile to other safe locations.Andaman Sheekha, worker of a private boat, said that a lot of people swim on a regular basis in the sea near Junglighat, including children. These people are now feared to become potential victims of crocodile attacks.
The Forest Department must catch these Crocodiles before someone falls victim of these crocs,” said Sheekha.
As of late, nothing has been done yet to catch these crocodiles.
The Junglighat Jetty is one of the busiest areas of Port Blair.A fisherman community, vessels, tourist boats, and a large number of fisherman dinghies operate from there on a daily basis.
