Some things just keep getting better with time.

A bowling center in Stadium Drive in Kalamazoo, Michigan has morphed into a multimillion-dollar entertainment center, set to offer more than just the usual bowling experience beginning September 8, reported MLive.com.

Southern Michigan will soon have Revel & Roll West as its “ultimate entertainment destination,” as how the company introduces itself on its website.

The upcoming entertainment center will replace Pinz Kalamazoo, a 36-lane bowling alley that opened on March 4, 2011, after taking over and renovating AMF Harpo’s Lanes, a similar bowling alley owned by AMF Bowling.

Pinz’s leasing contract expired in 2017.

“We want this place to be THE entertainment center of Kalamazoo on the West Side,” said Robert Brown Jr., acting manager, in an interview with MLive.

Brown added that it will be “a destination place where people can have fun and get a good meal,” aiming to attract the 18 to 50-year-old market.

The 46,000-square-foot Revel & Roll West set aside 12,000 sq. ft. for its “state-of-the-art gaming space,” quoted from its website, offering 153 arcades games.

There will also be a multi-level laser tag arena, a 78-foot-long bar, and a 135-seat restaurant.

Bowling enthusiasts need not worry because the place has retained the bowling section. There will be 30 lanes for general use.

Treystar Inc., owned by Robert Jr.'s father, Robert Brown Sr., poured in $4.75 million into this venture. The company owns the retail center University Commons, where the new entertainment center is found.

Since 1976, the space now occupied by Revel & Roll West has long been the location of a bowling center.

With “three party rooms . . . and an executive room with six” bowling lanes, the place also markets itself as a venue for private events and corporate functions," according to Brown Jr., they plan to have “about 20 percent” of their profit derived from the lease of these rooms.

Brown Sr. eyes the Western Michigan University and the medical technologies firm Stryker, headquartered in Kalamazoo, as potential customers, along with the city’s sports groups and similar organizations.
