[아시아뉴스통신=페이 기자] National Security Adviser Hermogenes Esperon, Jr. clarified in an interview with CNN Philippines' that Anti-Terrorism Council (ATC) can't order arrest of persons suspected of terrorism.
Esperon clarifies that ATC is not a judicial body or a quasi-judicial body and that it can only order the arrest after proscriptions or after designations. He also added that arrest of individuals or groups suspected of terrorism will only come once the organization is proscribed.
The ATC would be composed of nine members of the Cabinet including the Executive Secretary, National Security Adviser, Secretary of Foreign Affairs, Secretary of National Defense, Secretary of Interior and Local Government, Secretary of Finance, Secretary of Justice, Secretary of Information and Communications Technology, and Executive Director of the Anti-Money Laundering Council.
