[Asia News Communication = Reporter Reakkana] Cube Entertainment has issued a statement confirming that BTOB’s Ilhoon is under investigation for suspicions of marijuana use. On December 21, the outlet Channel A reported that Ilhoon had been caught by the police after using marijuana. It was reported that the police were able to confirm through testimonies from accomplices and checking bank account activity that Ilhoon used marijuana with acquaintances multiple times from four to five years ago until last year.
In addition, it’s said that drug components were detected through a hair follicle test. The police also reportedly secured evidence that Ilhoon purchased marijuana using cryptocurrency instead of cash to evade the police. His case is said to have been forwarded to the prosecution in July. Ilhoon is carrying out his mandatory military service after enlisting in May of this year, although he had originally been scheduled to enlist in March. Channel A issued a further report stating that some are questioning whether the timing of his enlistment had been related to the investigation.
Ilhoon’s agency Cube Entertainment told Channel A, “We had no knowledge that Ilhoon had been caught using marijuana. Although his enlistment had been set for March, it was delayed due to the COVID-19 pandemic.”
