영생을 사모하는 자들에게 기쁜 소식 (눅2:1-14)
"천사가 이르되 무서워 말라
보라 내가 온 백성에게 미칠
큰 기쁨의 좋은 소식을 너희에게 전하노라
오늘날 다윗의 동네에 너희를 위하여 구주가 나셨으니
곧 그리스도 주시니라
너희가 가서 강보에 싸여 구유에 누인 아기를 보리니
이것이 너희에게 표적이니라 하더니"(눅 2:10-12).
복음 사가(史家) 누가는 의사였습니다.
예수님의 생애와 교훈에 대하여
자기가 보고 조사한 바를 성령의 감동을 따라
논리적 체계적으로 기록해 주었습니다.
“너희가 가서 강보에 싸여 구유에 누인 아기를 보리니
이것이 너희에게 표적이니라”(눅 2:12).
예수님은 이 세상에서 가장 낮은 자의 형상으로 오셨습니다.
누구든지 모두 예수님을 만날 수 있도록
영광과 존귀의 하나님이 가장 비천한 모습으로 오셨습니다.
그런데 사람들 중에서
구원자로 오신 예수님을 만나는 이는 극소수입니다.
이 세상에는
눈에 보이는 세계에 목을 매고 있는 자들과
이 땅에 살면서도 영생을 사모하는 자들이라는
두 부류의 사람들이 공존합니다.
예수님께서 탄생하신 날의 베들레헴에도
시내의 사관(舍館)에 들어가서
먹고 마시며 즐기는 자들이 있었고,
들에서 추위를 견디면서 밤새 아침을 기다리며
영생을 사모하는 목자들이 있었습니다.
그런데 심령이 가난한 자들,
이 땅에서 고난을 당했지만 영생을 사모하던 목자들이
아기 예수님을 만났습니다.
“지혜자의 마음은 초상집에 있으되
우매자의 마음은 연락하는 집에 있느니라”(전 7:4).
여러분의 마음은 이 땅에만 쏟아져 있습니까?
아니면 영생의 천국을 사모하고 있습니까?

Good tidings to those who yearn everlasting life (Lk 2:1-14)
" Then the angel said to them, ‘Do not be afraid, for behold, I bring you good tidings of great joy which will be to all people. 11 For there is born to you this day in the city of David a Savior, who is Christ the Lord. 12 And this will be the sign to you: You will find a Babe wrapped in swaddling cloths, lying in a manger’"(Lk 2:10-12).
Luke the gospel writer was a physician.
He recorded what he saw and investigated about the life and teachings of Jesus logically and systematically, following the inspiration of the Holy Spirit.
“And this will be the sign to you: You will find a Babe wrapped in swaddling cloths, lying in a manger” (Luke 2:12).
Jesus came in the form of the lowest in the world.
The God of glory and honor has come in the lowest figure so that whoever desries can meet Him, the Savior Jesus.
However, there are only a few people who meet Jesus who came as the Savior.
In this world, there are two types of people: those who pour their hearts into worldly pleasure and those who long for eternal life in any situation.
Even in Bethlehem on the day Jesus was born, there were people who went into the inn to eat, drink and have fun, and there were shepherds who waited all night long for eternal life while enduring the cold in the fields.
But the poor in spirit, the shepherds who suffered on this earth but longed for eternal life, met the baby Jesus.
“The heart of the wise is in the house of mourning, But the heart of fools is in the house of mirth” (Ecclesiastes 7:4).
Are your hearts pouring out on this earth?
Or are you longing for the heaven of eternal life?
