[아시아뉴스통신=레악카나 특파원] Immigration Bureau plans to seek approval for a new measurement for the three categories of foreigners in Thailand this week due to Covid-19 crisis. This proposal will help foreigners stranded after most airlines stopped operating.
First group are for foreigners with resident visa, they are usually required to return within a year but will be given extension for their compulsory return deadline.
Secondly, foreign tourist whose visa expired on March 26 onwards will be automatically renewed every 30 days without needing to visit immigration offices until pandemic subsides.
Thirdly, foreigners visiting from neighboring countries will be allowed to stay until borders are re-opened.
Foreigners not covered by these groupings will still follow the usual procedure.
