[아시아뉴스통신=레악카나 특파원] Thailand and Malaysia banned from sending weightlifters to the 2020 Olympic Games in Tokyo because of multiple drug violations as announce by Independent Member Federations Sanctions Panel last Saturday.
International Weightlifting Federation (IWF) also suspended members from Thai Amateur Weightlifting Association (TAWA) and the Malaysian Weightlifting Federation (MFW) for three years and one year.
Thailand voluntary withdraw from international competitions including Olympics 2020 after nine members tested positive during the 2018 World Championships and MFW are given 21 days from April 1 to appeal to the Court of Arbitration for Sport (CAS).
