[아시아뉴스통신=페이 기자] Western Visayas reported 103 new confirmed COVID-19 cases on Monday, bringing the region’s tally to 2,895, the Department of Health-Western Visayas Center for Health Development (DOH-CHD6) said. In its regional Covid-19 bulletin, DOH-CHD 6 regional epidemiologist Dr. Jessie Glen Alonsabe said the 103 new cases were from the 975 total laboratory results released by three of the six sub-national and molecular laboratories.
Of the new cases, two are returning overseas Filipinos (ROFs) and the rest are local cases. The cases are broken down as follows: 37 from Iloilo City, 18 each from Iloilo province and Bacolod City, 17 from Negros Occidental, eight from Guimaras, four from Capiz, and one from Antique.
Two of the new cases have severe acute respiratory infection (SARI), one has influenza-like illness (ILI) and the rest are asymptomatic. Apart from new cases, the region also has 17 new recoveries, increasing the total number of recovered patients to 1,255. While there is no recorded fatality on Monday, two mortalities were recorded on Sunday, bringing the death tally in the region to 38.
