[아시아뉴스통신=페이 기자] The digital payout of emergency cash subsidy to waitlisted recipients in Eastern Visayas has already served a total of 5,179 families since its implementation last week. The Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) regional office reported on Tuesday that 15 local government units (LGU) in Eastern Samar, 13 in Leyte, nine in Southern Leyte, five in Samar and four in Northern Samar released the PHP5,000 cash aid through Starpay.
“A text message from Starpay indicating the schedule, reference number, and the remittance center where they can claim the cash, will be sent to the phone number given by the recipient,” DSWD Eastern Visayas Director Marie Angela Gopalan said in a statement. This information will be provided by the LGUs to those who have not indicated their contact number in the Social Amelioration Card (SAC) form and those with no cellular phones, she added.
This brings the total fund released in the region to PHP76.92 million serving 15,384 families since it started the distribution through direct payout on July 3. The DSWD targets to release the cash assistance under the social amelioration program (SAP) of the national government to 81,003 additional families in the region. These came from the 129 LGUs that submitted a list of qualified poor families but failed to receive the grant during the first tranche.
