[아시아뉴스통신=페이 기자] A job order employee of the provincial government of Sarangani is facing dismissal after turning out positive for using illegal drugs in a surprise test. Gerald Faciol, assistant provincial administrator for operations, said Wednesday the worker was among the 410 local government employees who were subjected to mandatory testing in the past two days.
Faciol said the personnel came out reactive for “shabu” and was relieved from his assignment at the Sarangani Medical Center or provincial hospital pending confirmatory testing. All employees of the hospital and the provincial security unit were subjected to drug testing after two contractual workers were arrested by agents of the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA) 12 (Soccsksargen) in separate buy-bust operations on Sunday.
The two, who were already considered terminated, reportedly doubled as drug pushers while working at the hospital, situated inside the Provincial Capitol compound in Alabel town. Faciol said a total of 242 employees underwent drug testing on Monday and another 168 on Tuesday in coordination with PDEA-12.
