[Asia News Communication = Reporter Reakkana] A 57-year-old man is facing charges for reportedly trying to commit suicide in Quezon City, police said Wednesday.
The Quezon City Police District said they filed multiple cases against the man for supposedly causing alarm and scandal, disobeying a person in authority, and violating a city ordinance that prohibits the carrying of a bladed weapon.
The charges came after the man reportedly attempted to stab himself using some 15-inch-long kitchen knife in front of a hotel establishment around 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday in Cubao. Concerned citizens sought assistance from police and the Bureau of Fire Protection, who managed to pacify him.
