[Asia News Communication = Reporter Reakkana] Joel Embiid scored 36 points and added 14 rebounds as his Philadelphia 76ers side defeated the Los Angeles Clippers 106-103. BBC Sports said that the 76ers extended their lead at the top of the Eastern Conference while defeat ended the Clippers' seven-game winning streak.
Embiid became the first 76ers player since 2006 to score more than 35 points in three consecutive games. "I think he's clearly the MVP this season," said team-mate Ben Simmons. "I don't think teams really know what to do when guarding him." Western Conference leaders the Utah Jazz beat the Indiana Pacers 119-111 but lost two-time All Star Donovan Mitchell in the third quarter as he limped off with a sprained right ankle.
