[Asia News Communication = Reporter Reakkana] A 16-year-old Filipino-American boy was shot and killed after answering the door in their Rainier Beach home in Seattle, Washington, Manila Bulletin cited. Earl Estrella was shot after he answered the door of his home in Waters Avenue South just before 11 p.m. on April 23, according to a report from Seattle Times.
Witnesses said someone knocked on the door of the home of Estrella and was shot multiple times when he opened it. The suspect then immediately fled the area, the report added. He was pronounced dead at the scene from a gunshot wound in the head. A GoFundMe page has been set up to help cover Estrella’s funeral expenses. “For those of you who knew and loved Earl, this news is absolutely devastating as he was only 16 years old and was a kind and sweet person,” said Daisy Ganal, aunt and godmother of Estrella.
“Any amount is greatly appreciated and if you cannot donate at this time, sharing this post will also go a long way,” she added. Authorities have yet to find any leads to the identity of the suspect or the motive behind the killing.
