[Asia News = Reporter Reakkana] BTS will be joining the OST lineup for Marvel Studios’ upcoming film “Eternals”! On October 18, American media outlet The Direct reported that BTS’s “Friends” sung by Jimin and V will be included in the “Eternals” OST. The following day, The Walt Disney Company Korea confirmed that “Friends” from BTS’s fourth studio album “Map of the Soul: 7” will be included in the film.
“Friends” was released in February 2020 as a B-side track on BTS’s “Map of the Soul: 7.” The song contains the story of same-aged friends and bandmates V and Jimin and is personally written, composed, and produced by Jimin. With its sincere message about friendship, the song “Friends” will be played in a specific scene in “Eternals.” In addition to BTS, the OST lineup includes world-renowned artists such as Carl Perkins, Skeeter Davis, Merle Haggard, Pink Floyd, Lizzo, and more. This will be the second time a Korean artist has been featured in a Marvel film following PSY‘s “Hangover” in “Black Panther” in 2018.
“Eternals” is based on a comic book series that was created in 1976 by Jack Kirby. It tells the story of a superhuman race called the Eternals that was birthed millions of years ago as a result of genetic experiments on Earth by the Celestials.
