층계로 내 단에 오르지 말라 (출 20:22-26)
“너는 층계로 내 단에 오르지 말라 네 하체가 그 위에서 드러날까 함이니라”(출 20:26)
율법(the Law)은 계명(commandments)과 제사법(Sacrificial System)으로 구성됩니다.
계명은 죄를 깨달으라고 주신 것(롬 3:20)이며, 정직한 사람은 계명 앞에서 자기가 “죄인 중에 괴수”(딤전 1:5)라고 고백하게 됩니다.
그렇게 심령이 가난한 자라야 오직 값없이 주시는 구원의 은총을 믿음으로 얻습니다.
하나님의 백성이 되는 길은 오직 하나입니다.
그것은 예수님께서 당신의 몸으로 드리신 “한 영원한 제사”(히 10:12)를 믿어서 의인으로 거듭나는 길뿐입니다.
“이르시되 나의 성도를 내 앞에 모으라 곧 제사로 나와 언약한 자니라 하시도다”(시 50:1-5).
하나님께서는 우리에게 단을 쌓고 번제(속죄제)와 화목제(감사제)를 드리라고 명하셨습니다.
번제와 화목제는 이렇습니다.
1) 흠 없는 제물 2) 안수(죄를 넘김) 3) 제물의 피(죽음)
두루마리 책(구약, 히 10:7)에 기록된 이 뜻을 좇아, 1) 흠 없는 어린양으로 오신 예수 그리스도는 2) 인류의 대표자인 세례 요한에게 안수의 형식으로 세례를 받아 세상 죄를 짊어지셨고, 3) “다 이루었다”라고 외치시고 돌아가시기까지 피를 흘리셔서 우리의 죄를 완벽하게 없애 주셨습니다.
단을 쌓을 때에 “정을 대서 다듬은 돌로 쌓지 말라”라는 말씀은 인간의 의와 공로를 들고 하나님께 나오지 말라는 말씀입니다.
“층계로 내 단에 오르지 말라”라는 말씀은 점진적 성화의 교리를 좇지 말라는 말씀입니다.
율법을 지켜서는 아무도 의롭다 하심을 얻을 수 없습니다.
성막의 번제단의 높이는 3규빗(1.35m)입니다.
번제단은 층계로 오를 필요가 없습니다.
번제단은 심령이 가난한 자라면 누구든지 가까이하여 감사의 제사를 드릴 수 있습니다.
Do not climb to My Altar by stairs (Ex 20:22-26)
"Nor shall you go up by steps to My altar, that your nakedness may not be exposed on it" (Ex 20:26).
The Law consists of commandments and the Sacrificial System.
The commandment works for us to understand sin (Rom 3:20), and an honest person confesses before the commandment that he is "the chief among sinners" (1 Tim 1:15).
Only those who are poor in spirit can receive the grace of salvation that is freely given through faith.
There is only one way to become God's people.
It is the only way to be born again by believing in "one eternal sacrifice" (Heb 10:12), which Jesus offered with His own Body.
"Gather My saints together to Me,
Those who have made a covenant with Me by sacrifice" (Ps 50:5).
God has commanded us to build an altar and offer burnt offerings (sin offerings) and peace offerings (thanksgiving offerings).
The burnt offering and the peace offering consist of:
1. An offering without blemish.
2. Laying on of hands (transferring sins).
3. The blood of the sacrifice (death).
According to this will written in the Book of scroll(Heb 10:7),
1) Jesus Christ came as the Lamb without blemish,
2) He took on the sins of the world by being baptized in the form of laying on his hands by John the Baptist, the representative of humankind.
3) He shed blood until He cried out, "It is finished!" He died to remit all our sins completely.
When building an altar, "You shall not build it of hewn stone"(Ex 20:25) means not to come to God with your human righteousness and merit.
"Nor shall you go up by steps to My altar"(Ex 20:26) implies not to follow the doctrine of incremental sanctification.
No one can be justified by keeping the Law.
The height of the Altar of burnt offering before the Tabernacle was 3 cubits (1.35 m).
The Altar of burnt offering does not need to go up by stairs.
Anyone of the poor spirit can approach the Altar of burnt offering and offer the sacrifices of thanksgiving.
