Grand Rapids, Michigan - Women’s Lifestyle Magazine is celebrating this month’s theme with “Imagine the Artists in You.”
Amelea Pegman is the woman that graces the magazine’s cover. She is a Grand Rapids native and the managing editor of ArtPrize Nine, an independently organized international art competition that takes place in Michigan each fall. "Getting people to feel empowered and like their voice matters is so important right now," Pegman explains.

This month’s edition of the women's magazine gathers stories of local women, who have made a name in the art industry. One highlight in the September issue is artist Karin Nelson. “One of the best ways of learning, for me, was to deeply analyze paintings that intrigued me,” shares Nelson. She said that although the idea of becoming an artist was, at first, unimaginable to her, she believed that art transformed her life. She shared how she found her passion and talent for art and how she was able to develop it over the years. You will also be guided as to how to find her works.
