[아시아뉴스통신=조날드 타파난 특파원] Asian dramas are about to impress and delight their viewers. Many Filipinos are interested to watch K-dramas until now because of great stories, especially romance and love stories.
But Asian dramas are not the only attraction brought to the Philippines. Various television networks in the Philippines have also produced their dramas or episodes based on past and historical places.
Some period drama has aired in the Philippines. Among them are the Amazing Twins series, Jewel in the Palace, and Jumong which has been the highest rating shows in their timeslot. Originally aired in these period dramas, Asianovela in the Philippines also featured Amazing Twins.
Next up is the award-winning period drama Jewel in the Palace. It was watched on the GMA Network in 2005 in primetime. It is the story of simple woman Dae Jang Geum who became an important figure in the palace because of her talent and goodwill.
Although it was the third timelot in primetime, it gained the highest rating in the country since 2006. Many people adores and amaze at the young star Lee Young Ae made.
The story of Jumong, a warrior in ancient Korea, was later revealed. It was watched on GMA in 2007 in the primetime slot which also quickly gained the highest rating. Viewers also loved the action-packed chapter of the series, accompanied by the theme song 'Hold On' by the Shamrock band.
